Check out this cool dance track and music video, “You Have To Believe” by Dave Audé featuring Olivia Newton-John, and her daughter, Chloe Rose Lattanzi. The song samples Newton-John’s 1980s hit song “Magic” – a soundtrack from the 1980s motion picture “Xanadu” in which she also starred.
“You Have To Believe” almost sounds like a cover of “Magic,” but if you focus on the lyrics you’ll realize that it simply samples the other heavily. And it doesn’t hurt to actually have the original singer perform! Newton-John still sounds great, and her daughter, Lattanzi, sounds good too! Their collaboration is reminiscent of “Son of a Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You)“, Janet Jackson’s single of her 2001 album “All For You,” where she collaborated with Carly Simon, and featured Missy Elliott. The song samples Simon’s 1970s hit single in the early, “You’re So Vain.”
“You Have To Believe” music video has plenty of cameos from very familiar Las Vegas entertainers (at least to me), namely Hot Chocolate (Larry Edwards), and Derrick Barry. Shot in multiple locations, two of which I’m familiar with Divas and Share Nightclub – where I actually did an impromptu photo shoot with Barry, even the “XX” prop is in our shot! Both Edwards and Barry are regular cast members of Frank Marino’s Divas Las Vegas at The LINQ.
Other note-worthy cameos, the guy impersonating Steven Tyler, unless that’s really him! So real. The music video’s cinematography is great. It’s very dynamic and not overdone.
