The movie adaptation of one of the best Sci-Fi and game changer television show in 2000s, the show who popularized shaky cam, is finally moving forward! “Battlestar Gallactica” is by far the best reimagined show to date. The show attempted a reboot with the pre-quel “Blood and Chrome”, chronicling the life of a young William Adama, but it was never picked up by any network. Instead, the pilot was released as a one-time mini-web series on Machinima Prime. The upcoming movie maybe the break the franchise is waiting for, to hopefully jumpstart, perhaps, another television series on traditional network television or streaming.
“Westworld” scribe Lisa Joy has been set to adapt a “Battlestar Galactica” film for Universal, sources confirmed to Variety.
Bryan Singer had been attached to direct, but has since moved on. The studio is now eyeing “Hunger Games” helmer Francis Lawrence, though sources say discussions are early.–Justin Kroll/Variety
